Jael Wiafe - Gye Me
An Accra native, Jael Wiafe started her music career at the age of 12 and accompanied Ghanaian gospel
singers on tour. Although she was initially criticized in the Christian community for embracing secular music and fashion to accompany her gospel themed music, the growth of publicly popular gospel in the year 2001, pushed Jael Wiafe into the spotlight. Wiafe states: "When I talk to people, I have to tell them who I am, because I belong to God. Daily, I pray that I can be of service to God". As she says on her first album: "I would love to thank the one and only true God, my Lord and personal saviour Jesus Christ for bringing me out of total darkness into His marvellous light. I love you Jesus with my heart, mind, body and soul". |
