Vuyo Mokena - Pure Magic
A former member of Pure Magic and gospel diva Rebecca Malope's associate, Vuyo Mokoena has just released
his second album of lively gospel material, "Sish'udumo". Focusing on life in general, through the album Vuyo seeks to add his voice to those concerned about the pandemic and its devastating effects on both the infected and affected. It draws frustrated individuals, ready to throw the towel in closer to the warmth of God. Over and above the lyrics, the music is one encouraging message about the abundance of hope in God. Vuyo has not rested on his laurels by leaning on remixed standard gospel songs; he also composes. Of this album Vuyo says: 'First and foremost I would like to point out that after a lot of soul searching, I have gone back to my original style first gleaned on the Kunjalo album. This album transports me back to that popular music which went well with not only my fans but everybody who had the good fortune of being exposed to my music'. |
